Stop spending paid sessions hunting for vacancies
You are being paid for judgement, positioning and the difficult conversation about what the client is actually good at. You are probably spending a chunk of every session scrolling job boards with them instead. FirstPost monitors roles against each client's criteria between sessions, so more of the hour can go to the work only you can do.
The short version
FirstPost is a personalised job alert service. Your client sets their job titles, industries, seniority, work arrangement and location, or uploads a CV and has those suggested for them. FirstPost then checks over 200,000 companies across employer career pages and more than 25 national and public job boards, sending an alert when new roles match. You can give clients access codes that grant free Pro for a set period, with no card required and no cost to them. There is no minimum order and no contract.
What changes in your sessions
The session starts with material
When new roles have matched since the previous alert, the client has current material to bring into the session. You can move straight to targeting, tailoring and whether a role is worth the application.
Momentum survives the gap
The fortnight between sessions is where many job searches stall. A short scheduled alert is a lower barrier than asking a client to restart the search from nothing each Monday morning.
You stop being the search engine
Hunting for vacancies is the least leveraged thing you do in a session, and it is the part a client can least afford to buy by the hour. Monitoring between sessions leaves more time for the judgement they are actually paying you for.
Particularly useful for career changers
The hardest part of a change is that the client does not yet know the vocabulary of the field they are moving into, so they cannot search for it. A CV upload suggests job titles based on what is actually in their history, which gives you a concrete list to react to. On Pro they can run up to three saved searches at once, so a client can test two directions side by side, which is a far cheaper experiment than committing to a retraining course.
If you work with people leaving the armed forces, our military to civilian trade translator maps service roles to the civilian job titles employers actually advertise, and is free to use with or without an account.
How coaches usually start
Almost nobody in a solo practice wants a procurement conversation, and we are not going to try to have one with you. The normal route is that you ask for a few codes, use them with current clients, and come back if they earn their place. If you get to the point of running structured cohorts or group programmes, we can talk about something more formal then.
| What we ask for | |
|---|---|
| Minimum number of clients | None |
| Contract or commitment | None |
| Cost to you to start | Nothing. The first batch of codes is free |
| Cost to your clients | Nothing, during the code period or after it |
| Setup work | Send the code to the client. That is the whole integration |
Frequently asked questions
Most coaches rely on the mainstream job boards plus whatever the client finds themselves, which means paid session time gets spent searching rather than coaching. A personalised alert service moves some of that work out of the session. FirstPost monitors over 200,000 companies across employer career pages and more than 25 national and public job boards, then emails each client when new roles match their criteria.
Yes. We issue access codes that grant a client a set period of free Pro with no card required. Most independent coaches start with a handful of codes, use them with current clients, and come back for more if they are useful. There is no minimum, no contract and no platform fee.
Not to redeem a code, and not afterwards either. When a code's free Pro period ends, the client moves to the free Starter plan automatically and remains on alerts for a smaller monitored set, with no card on file at any point.
Not their account, no. Each client's feed, CV and matches are their personal data, and in practice clients simply bring their digest to the session, which is usually what you want anyway. We can tell you how many of your codes have been redeemed. Every alert email also asks how the search is going, with an "I got a job" option, and we can share how that is trending across the clients you have issued codes to. One caveat we would rather state than skirt: with only a handful of clients an aggregate is not really anonymous, so we keep individual answers to ourselves unless the client tells you themselves.
It helps. A client can upload their CV and have job titles suggested from what is actually in it, which gives you a concrete starting list to challenge and refine together rather than beginning from a blank page. On Pro they can also run up to three distinct saved searches at once, so a client torn between two directions can test both rather than committing to one.
No. Clients sign up to FirstPost with their own account and the product is FirstPost branded. What you can do is issue the codes as part of your package and present it as something you provide.
